Shangri La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa

The Spice Market Cafe in Shangri La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa is treating everyone with it's promo: International Buffet at RM132++ (exclusive of 10% Service Tax and 5% Government Tax)) but by using Citibank credit card, we can get 20% discount. Spice Market Cafe consisting of the freshest seafood to the most innovative local delights.

This time I went there for a dinner review of its promotion package (Buy 1 Free 1) at the Spice Market Cafe. It is only RM137 nett per person and yes, it is buy 1 free 1. My first impression of the cafe is that it is huge with food stations and counter on one whole side of the restaurant plus a huge central island for serving out cold dishes and desserts.

Spice Market Cafe is definitely a one of a kind restaurant. Kudos to the management, they came up with the concept of actually putting up a spice shop in the front. Not only has it smelled wonderful of the assortment of spices but as well as a visual appetizer for what is waiting inside is the glorious food. The Spice Market is aptly named to give visitors a hands-on introduction of the local and traditional spices used in the cuisines of the world.

I took lots of pictures to show everyone how good of a deal it is. I've tried buffets at the other place but this buffet has more strengths. It is a trip down memory lane.  I have a sense of tranquility and inner peace when I stepped inside the hotel and its landscaped gardens.

I got to eat my favourites and judging from the lines, it could be well a popular favourite. The Indian cuisine is something to note. They had Tandoori that is chicken, lamb and fish, also nasi briyani and an assortment of curries. My favourite papadam is also available!

Besides Tandoori, there is various satay to savor! The satay is not tough and very tender even for the lamb version to complete the Indian food adventure.

There are also lots of buns and breads around to choose from.

These are the Japanese section. There had a lot kind of sushi! For example, Maki Sushi, Salmon Sushi, Tuna Sushi & Shrimp Sushi.

There also had fresh crayfish, mussels, fresh prawns, and fresh crabs.

Pasta section: bolognaise…
Roasted beef.. yummy!!

After all the heavy meal sections, it’s finally the desserts! I have to say, the variety available here is pretty impressive as they have fresh fruits, cakes, ice cream, crepes, and local favorite desserts such as ice kacang! Why are these on sticks? Reason is simple. There is a molten chocolate fountain to dip these sweet items in! The fresh crepe section. These are all the toppings which I can choose for my crepe.

This was a bowl of ice cream that was not had by me but my colleagues. Just look at all the melted chocolate and toppings..
When it comes to quality ingredients, Shangri-La spares no expense in creating and leading a system of food quality control and in fact the hotel chain has been with an ISO certification. So, the reservations is required as the deal is very popular to avoid disappointment..

Chocolate cakes and strawberry, Cheese cake, Chocolate tart , Chocolate mousse. Amazing...
